A large format, illustrated survey of over 60 of Ireland's houses and castles. I enjoyed this book, I've had it (and earlier print) for over 10 years now and I continually take a look for reference or just to enjoy browsing the photos! The histories accompanying the photos are comprehensive but concise, and very well written. The inclusion of floor plans would have gotten the fifth star - I think floor plans tell a lot about a building, especially one that's grown over centuries as these buildings invariably have.
