  • This item is interesting for a person who is a designer and likes keepsakes .
It is small and pages are colored in red highlighting certain focal points. Not sure of its purpose.

  • Arrived in proper order. Great read. Thank you.

  • Great book I had lost. I had attended the Metropolitan Show which was wonderful.
The bookseller lived up to its promises.
    I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!
    Thank you Amazon.

  • I bought this book for my mother who works as a fashion teacher at a high school. The book is small book but gorgeously illustrated, the designs were rather intricate though so I would suggest this as more of a coloring book to be used by older children, or to use the pages as works of art which they definitely are.

  • This book is actually the exhibition catalogue for YSL's retrospective show at the Met in New York way back in the early 1980's. It is quite fascinating to read in Yve's very own words how he goes about designing his collections and what inspires him. There are also short essays from "I'd forgotten they ever existed" but once famous celebs (like Diana Vreeland and Paloma PIcasso) that are a giggle. The pictures of Yve's work are, of course, beautiful, even if half of them are in black and white (budget constraints, perhaps). My only complaint would be the slightly dodgy lay-out, with descriptions for many of the outfits many pages away from the actual picture of said outfit. I guess Ms. Vreeland was getting rather old and somewhat "out there". Definitely a must own for any real YSL fan.
