Born American but long based in London, she is also a professional orchestral cellist, playwright, wife and mother. She is also the author of one non-fiction book, All Risks Musical (Pocket Press, featuring cartoons by Noel Ford). Alice, who occasionally writes for international publications including the Guardian and the Strad, also writes a column for the daily classical music internet magazine Music and Vision. Alice has been long been married to Simon McVeigh (Professor of music and recently deputy Vice-Chancellor at Goldsmiths College, University of London).
