Darren James Almond (born August 1971, Appley Bridge, Lancashire) is an English artist, based in London. He was nominated for the 2005 Turner Prize. Almond graduated from Winchester School of Art in 1993, with a BA (hons) degree in Fine Arts.

Almond has been making his Fullmoon photographs since 1998, when a chance encounter led him to develop the idea of night-time photography using the iridescence of moonlight with an extremely lengthy exposure time. The result is an ongoing series of landscape photographs that are bathed in an eerie brightness, seemingly, and rather alarmingly, turning night into day. In Almond's images, waterfalls and gushing lakes are transformed into pools of static steam.

Darren Almond was born in 1971 in Wigan, England. He is a conceptual artist whose work in photography, film and sculpture revolves around themes of personal memory, cultural history and time. His major solo exhibitions include shows at the ICA and the Tate Britain in London, Kunsthalle Zürich, K21 Düsseldorf, Museum Folkwang Essen, SITE Santa Fe, and Art Tower Mito in Japan. As a "full moon" fanatic, this book was mesmerizing. I love to travel and the fact that photos were taken in remote areas of the world was awe inspiring.
