  • THE book to take to safari in southern Africa!!! This book was immensely helpful to us on our first visit to Africa (perhaps our only one!) We saw hundreds of birds and all but two or three were in this little book. It is small and easy to carry in the 4 wheel drive vehicles and didn't take up much room in our very limited luggage. If you're thinking of buying a bird book for Africa, THIS IS THE ONE!!!!

  • Having been to East Africa and taken a few thousand pictures, this is a handy book to have on hand when trying to identify the BIRDS that were in those pictures!

  • I used this book extensively on my trip to South Africa. It is simple to use, contains colored photos of most of the birds of the area, and was with me the entire trip.

  • Like this book as it's quick and can be carried with you for ID purposes. Very good book to have for identification of the South African birds

  • For such a little book, it is packed with information: range maps, good photographs, and tips. We look forward to using it next week, along with the new Fourth Edition of the Birds of Southern Africa by Ian Sinclair which is due to arrive tomorrow.

  • I ordered this book, an it was a little bit smaller that I thougt, but the perfect size to carry it in the pocket (litterally) its incredible the ammount of information you can find on it, amazing images, usefefull tips, and the shipping was faster that I thougt. Im very pleased.

  • Very nice book with nice pictures.
Good size, has most of the commom birds I saw.
I always had with me 2 pocket guides, for help.

  • I am a bird lover and had been to Swaziland last year and loved the birds in that part of the world!
