Fiery Holiness, Burning HopeWith word pictures to spark your imagination, the preeminent prophet Isaiah paints pictures of the holy and composes symphonies of hope. Witness the double-edged dynamic of God’s holiness, both burning away sin in the furnaces of His judgment and refining the humble so they are fit for His presence. God the looming judge also sends the Suffering Servant, who takes our sorrows upon Himself. • As a youth (too many years ago) I listened to my father and other church members
( in the Mennonite Church) sit and argue about Old Testament Prophets and their prophecies. I never understood why all the hub-bub and never tried to ungerstand.
Lately in my quest to read the Bible cover to cover, I get very bogged down in the
books of the prophets. I knew that there was good stuff there and messages that
God wants me to have, so I ordered this study guide-Isaiah(Lifechange).

It explains the history, politics, culture and date relationships of Isaiah and his
messages to the people. This had always been a frustration and a reason for my not getting involved with the prophets. The study guide is also very good at pulling out
issues that are important to Christian growth for Today.

It does tend to stay away from giving to much opinion or interpretation. I do wish it did more, but I understand why it doesn't. If you have had trouble getting food from Isaiah,
    this study guide will help.

  • Really enjoying this study with two of my friends. I've done my share of bible studies and different books but was looking for a more in depth study without having to go to seminary either (because I don't need to be a theologian). I wanted to have something that was a bit more challenging and in depth so I could have a better understanding of the Bible without being ridiculously over my head. The best part about it is that it has also been impacting me spiritually. I was going into this study for head knowledge but my heart has grown more. Highly recommend these studies!

  • It's ok... Lots of stuff more pertinent to a leader and I wish more detail "helps" from scriptural meanings... Lots of application stuff... Sometimes a bit removed from what I belueve is the spiritual foundation which is always faith in Jesus Christ. Overall a good group study book.

  • If you want to know where a lot of the prophetic verses of the bible are that relate both to the first coming of our Lord Jesus Christ as well as His second coming then study the book of Isaiah. This book is rich in history which leads to a lot of the understanding of what is happening all over the world today in many countries. Even unbelievers can gain knowledge from this book if they are willing to really study it. The life change series of study books of the bible is the best series in my opinion no matter what book you wish to study.

  • Perfect, well-written study and questions i used for my home Bible study. We all enjoyed it very much.

  • A Navigator publication keeping you in the Word. It gives study hints that can be used in any Bible study you do and emphasizes application. Nothing unexpected for Navigators.

  • Doing this study right now with my boyfriend. It's great! It's really helping me dig into Isaiah which I've always wanted to do but seemed daunting. I will definitely be getting more of their studies in the future.

  • Very in-depth study. I highly recommend this study for advanced groups looking to go deep into God's Word. Everyone in the group I'm in is enjoying this study very much.
