Psychologist Dr. Chris Thurman guides the reader through part one that identifies the different areas of self-lies, religious lies, marital lies, distortion lies, and worldly lies

Psychologist Dr. Chris Thurman guides the reader through part one that identifies the different areas of self-lies, religious lies, marital lies, distortion lies, and worldly lies. Part Two delves into the issues of what is truth, and Part Three deals with how to live the truth, ultimately revealing the freedom that can only come from one thing-believing and telling themselves the truth.

In other words, the author has enlightened and corrected the many "mistaken beliefs" (aka, lies) I have had about God the Father in particular.

  • This is best of all an extremely practical book for lasting change. Its amazing how these lies we tell ourselves are obvious but we absolutely need to be reminded of our own faulty thinking that, unfortunately, can seem natural and correct. Highly recommended.

  • There are so many good points in here. Our own internal beliefs are not someone else's truth. While I really endorse a lot of what is written in this book there are times I wanted more depth. Especially with how our "lies" lead us into areas we don't even comprehend. I say write a sequel. This book is not for those who ignore any elephant in the room, they would never begin to understand the starting premise. I will say if you are an elephant denier the workbook may help to bring some light to your struggles.

  • Chris does an outstanding job with this book. I give this book to others as part of my ministry.

  • This changed my life and I have given a dozen to friends!

  • This is a must read. Read this in a group....WOW the lies we all have.

  • This book is well written - an easy read. It is very insightful in terms of bringing understanding concerning the thought processes that keep us from reaching our full potential in life. Much of our success in life, the amount of joy we experience and the depth and quality of our relationships is dependent on our ability to cultivate a healthy thought life based on truth. It is filled with practical steps to do just that.I have been experiencing great break throughs in countering distructive thought patterns by implimenting these principles.

  • An eye opener into the things we think about ourselves. I never realized how many lies I believe until I read this book. It will change your point of view and it will help you feel better about things that are not really your fault.

  • Very good book. Essential in my coaching library.
