  • John's book Waking the Dead is my favorite. In fact it was so well liked that my Pastor spent five weeks doing a series based on it. He went on to encourage the whole church purchase a copy of it and follow along. After enjoying Waking the Dead so much I started purchasing other books by him. I would have to say this one is next on my list. In Waking the Dead John resurrects the whole idea of living from the heart and not the head. Desire goes on to expand on one way God guides us, through desire. I have loaned my copies of both these books to friends and in each case they thanked me and went on to purchase copies for themselves. John covers a topic overlook by many, keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it come the issues of life.

  • Can't begin to describe how this book draws me closer to the heart of God.

  • I am a great fan of John Eldredge so perhaps this is not a neutral review, but this quiet little book is deep as a well. Since it was written just after his friend's death, the beginning is uncharacteristically depressing. But if you hang in for the ending...WOW! His description of Heaven is the best I've ever read. Forget the harps and halos--this is downright exciting. I've read the book three times now. It's a keeper.

  • john makes a great case for the fact that God created us to live in paradise. When our heart aches for our idea of perfect, that is because we were programmed to live in a perfect environment. We don't need to quiet that desire. We just need to mindful of distractions and imposters while we patiently await the time when our true desire will be fulfilled.

  • This work by Eldridge is an insightful view of the human heart. Living out our God given desires is the key to living a life worth living. Once again, the author strikes a chord too easily buried in ones soul. To not embrace our Godly desires is to deny what makes each of us unique and precious in the Father's eyes. "The glory of God, is man fully alive." And we are not fully alive if desire is not lived for, strived for and fought for. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to LIVE and not just exist.

  • Oh to discover the real reasons we do what we do?? It is a journey but one of self discovery and God discovery. Please read as the world need more people with self awareness!!

  • It's okay to admit tat you desire fulfillment in numerous ways. Keeping in mind it's preparation for what God has in store is the great challenge which requires sober judgment.

  • This CD series is amazing highly recommended this author is really anointed by the Lord his word is true this will touch your heart and away the Steroben test before and I highly recommend this for anybody!
