  • So I have known that I have been ADD for a long time and was just coping with it. I have even had this book for a long time but only got through a bit of it in my no book reading ADD behavior. Much much later I ended up sitting and down and reading it and realizing because I was already going through a no drinking period and I also quit smoking cigarettes that my real need wasn't in checking out like I always thought but more that I didn't have enough healthy things to check myself into on a daily basis. The funny thing about it is that by realizing this need to stay interested or in an activity made me actually like the idea of reading because it is no longer about staying active in the best activity (video games) but in any interesting activity and I of course listen with my favorite music, Techno.
For all you ADD people out there, get this book because it helped me realize that my compulsion to addictions can be actually turned into beneficial behavior.

  • This book is a must have for the adhder it gives you hope that this thing we all struggle with is studied and known about. I read it in full the day I got it.

  • Nice Source

  • Wendy Richardson needs to find a larger audience for her work - the information is invaluable. This is one of my favorite books of all time. I have bought extra copies to give away to people in the field that need to understand the link between biology and addiction. 6 stars... BRAVO!!!!

  • One of the best books out there regarding ADHD, ADD, ADDiction and all that can come with it.

  • I bought this book to learn more due to my recent discovery of my husband's hidden use of Meth (diagnosed with ADD). The first few chapters were like reading about my husband. I hope now that he has the book and away from home, he finds himself...and not too late. :(

  • This is a must read for every parent of a child with AD/HD and every teen who struggles with AD/HD.

  • Depends, I suppose on what people have read. I have read a great deal about ADD and some about the connection to addictive tendencies - the information here seemed pretty self-evident. But if you are new to the topic, it may be great. Another good one if someone is interested in a more sophisitcated "take" on the subject - would be Mate's "In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts"
