  • Even though Lynn Austin is one of my favorite authors, I was a little apprehensive about reading this book due to the subject matter. As it turned out, I thoroughly enjoyed Fly Away. It was fun to read about senior citizens, especially since I'm no spring chicken, and as usual Austin wove a beautiful spiritual message into the story.

  • I loved the character development in this story. Though it’s fiction, these type of people are in our lives: self-sufficient, goal-oriented, accomplished, and then heart-broken when life inevitably throws them an unexpected curve. It’s a story of gradual awakening to what really matters, without being preachy. The ending is believable and satisfying.
This was my first book by this author. I was not disappointed. I will read more of her stories.

  • I don't usually write reviews for the books I read. I love all of them, but this was such a sweet story about two people from completely different worlds. Wilhelmina was the Christian, but was in such a depressed state, she could not function properly or perhaps had always been such a straight n serious person. She meets Mike who is not a Christian, but is a happy guy, enjoys the nature and people around him. He ends up ministering to her, but it also shows the plan of God to reach out to each one of us with His love and saving grace and is not willing for any to perish.

  • Have read all of Lynn Austin's books and love them all, but this one is very special. It is a quick read and, like all of the Austin books, has a great moral/spiritual Christ centered message.

  • This book has really made me take a new look at my life and God's purpose for me. Like Wilhelmina in the story I am 66 and retired for a year, and not really sharing the gospel with anyone. I have been truly blessed in my life and I have been truly selfish with my life. This is my wake-up call. I have ordered this book in paperback so that I can it with a friend. I highly recommend this book to all "stale Christians".

  • I absolutely love every book Lynn Austin has written. I believe this book hit new heights for even her! I think I read that this was the first book she had ever written and this is a new release of it. I thought I had read all her books, but I don't remember reading this one until now. "Amazing" is all I can say!

  • Older folk are more apt to enjoy this story because the heroine has just been retired from a long career and doesn't want to be retired. However, this "problem" leads into more in-depth life experience and relationships. It's a short but excellent story.
