Arnold Fruchtenbaum exposes the events of the book of Revelation in the best possible way. While others come to conclusions drawn from personal experience, Zeitgeist, or current events, this book is based on bible prophecy from both the OT and the NT with focus on the last things as stated in the book of Revelation. Fruchtenbaum's cultural, educational, and spiritual background enables the reader to learn beyond closely limited horizons. Footsteps of messiah - most informative reading. • This book by Arnold Fruchtenbaum has been a faithful taecher, companion and source of encouragement , to my wife and myself, for the past 24 years. A good friend gave us a copy and in turn, we have given away many copies to eager bible learners since. It's not just the the insights but how Arnold presents these insights, they inspire the reader and searcher of the Truth to continue to search and study and think and apply in ones own life. If you want to know and understand what our Christian roots are and that in fact there are roots and you will not be ashamed that they are completely Jewish, then this book is for you. When you begin to read this great study help, remember that it is meant to be a long companion and that Jesus is a Jew, that He came for the Jews first and then for the Gentiles. The book does not 'push' a 'Jews-for'Jesus' agenda, but rather helps to fill in the gaping voids about what the Bible says to the Jews, what to the none Jews.'Footsteps of the Messiah' draws a clear picture of the future of the Jews, their present condition and about a church without walls. It also instructs how future world events, including the second-bodily-appearance of our Savior, are directly linked to the 'turn-of-Jewish hearts'.

  • The most detailed, scripture supported teaching I've ever read on Revelation, the timeline and occurrences. The author gives deeper meaning to the interpretation of the scriptures with his explanations of Jewish culture and understanding of the Word from his Jewish perspective. Scriptures throughout the Bible are shown which support this author's understanding and explanation of the Revelation.

  • In Footsteps of the Messiah, Arnold Fruchtenbaum has written perhaps the definitive commentary on end time theology. He has taken each section of scripture from both testaments dealing with the war of Ezekiel 38, the last week of Daniel (also known as the Tribulation period), Armageddon, and the millennial kingdom. He has then explained in detail how each prophet added to the complete picture of how things will be at the end of the age. You will be presented with important points from some of scripture's most obscure prophets, and have concepts explained that many, if not most, of us were not even aware of. Fruchtenbaum has woven the Old Testament scriptures in with the texts from Matthew 24, and other pertinent gospels and epistles, and placed all of this information into context inside the Revelation. To say that he has been exhaustive in this exercise would be to understate it. In addition to explaining scripture, Fruchtenabum gives an extensive lesson in hermeneutics (the art of interpreting scripture), and shows how reading the Bible in a literal sense is the only way to gain a correct understating of what God has to say on the subject. This is the only work I am aware of that compares favorably to Dwight Pentecost's Things to Come. The only criticism I have of this work is Fruchtenbaum's understanding of the place of the Jewish Remnant in the millennial kingdom. Because of the tremendous respect I have for Fruchtenbaum and his scholarship, this is an area in which I am content to agree to disagree, and I recommend this work to any one.

  • 'Write therefore the things which you saw and the things which are; and the things which shall come to pass hereafter...' Revelation 1:19

Taking as his maxim 'The Golden Rule of Interpretation' Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum uses the plain sense of Scripture, when it makes common sense, in other words, every word at its literal meaning, unless there is clear indication otherwise.

Specifically this book of 23 chapters, 11 appendices (in the updated version) and hundreds of Scripture references from 60 of the Bible's 66 books, is a study of eschatology - the study of the last days. Revelation, the key book of this exegesis, is said to contain over 500 references to the Old Testament.

Chapters 1 - 3 lay the foundation for what is to come and include an overview of the Book of Revelation. Chapters 4 - 7 look at the sequence of pretribulational events, including the Rapture. The events of the Great Tribulation are the key focus of Chapters 8 -14, culminating in the Second Coming of Jesus the Messiah. The 75 day interval after Armageddon, and the setting up of the Messianic Kingdom, are discussed in Chapter 15. The final chapters are a study of the Messianic Kingdom and the Eternal Order. The Appendices and Bible index offer a wealth of further material for research and meditation.

Scripturally referenced at every step, God's prophetic Word for Israel, the Church and the Gentiles, is unfolded with depth, clarity and sound Biblical reasoning.

Quite simply, this is the best book I have read on this subject, rekindling the Christian hope and expectation of the imminent return of our Lord and Saviour.

  • By far and away the best of the all of the studies of the biblical prophecies regarding the end times! Not only is it extremely helpful to see all of those prophecies gathered into a chronological study; but the insights given from a Jewish background, are greatly illuminating. I love the fact that the author uses only the Bible to explain the Bible. Whenever there are multiple interpretations. he explains each one, why authorities believe each theory, then, which he believes and why. It is the only book I have ever read, where I also read every appendix. I will warn you, this book is NOT for the casual reader, but if you really want to study and to gain an understanding of biblical end of times prophecies it is DEFINITELY well worth the effort.

  • this book is awesome!!!...I am using it as my own personal bible study and using my bible to study along with it...easy to read and understand...the author explains the book of Revelation in detail...brings in the book of Daniel, Isaisah, etc. I am getting an understanding of so much as the book of Revelation uses so many symbols in it....I would buy this again...
