Vet Behind The Ears book. When he heard those words, Christopher Timothy was an actor in the traditional position of facing imminent unemployment.

The book quality itself was that it was an older book, but if you are an avid book reader, you know that sometimes you enjoy a musty book. gives it that real feeling that today's technology lacks. I didn't expect this to be a life-changing tome, just a good behind-the-scenes take on Chris Timothy's experience of "All Creatures Great and Small", and it was. It also included events leading up to that. The book stops after the first series ended, just before the 2nd series began

  • This book was entertaining, I thought. yes, the author does do some flashbacks, etc, but it is fun. The book quality itself was that it was an older book, but if you are an avid book reader, you know that sometimes you enjoy a musty book...gives it that real feeling that today's technology lacks. I didn't expect this to be a life-changing tome, just a good behind-the-scenes take on Chris Timothy's experience of "All Creatures Great and Small", and it was. It also included events leading up to that. The book stops after the first series ended, just before the 2nd series began. He does allude to his experience with Carol Drinkwater with great respect and taste, and I think dispels the rumours of scandal. Blessedly so for this fan of both actors. Very enjoyable.

  • I love Christopher Timothy and the series, All Creatures Great and Small. Every episode was a pleasure to watch, no matter how many times I watch it . This series was like therapy for me, something to give myself as a treat, a respite from the entertainment current choices .

Mr.Timothy in this book offers us a first hand look at what it was like to work on this series over the years, with the other wonderful actors. Thanks,Christopher

  • I know that its very difficult to write a book, but this one is very soso. There was a, very few details about All Creatures, Great and Small show itself. The author erratically jumped from topic to topic and abruptly finished the book.
I don't keep it in my collection.

  • I like to know the background behind show I watch and this one is very informative. Christopher Timothy writes well and gives a clear picture of what it was like the make the beginning of this snow. I am glad I found out about this book.

  • It was interesting to read this book since I have been a fan of "All Creatures Great and Small" for years.

  • I found it interesting to read the behind the scenes look from the actor who starred in the series...All Creatures Great and Small.

  • As much as I love the Herriot books, and the BBC series, Mr. Timothy might want to stick to acting. I had been hoping for many anecdotes about the filming of the series, the setting, the local characters and animal actors, but this book contains way too little of this. It is sort of a mish mash of Christopher Timothy rambling about his life in general . . . and not in any particular order. He was quite good in the role of James Herriot but, thank goodness, the TV series had excellent writers.

  • I was glad to get a copy of Christopher Timothy's book, "Vet Behind the Ears" as I'm a fan of the "All Creatures Great & Small" T.V. Series. It was certainly more economical to buy a paperback through Amazon than to pay $80 for hardcover via a local bookstore! (It's part of a national chain.) Due to its age, the pages in the copy I received were quite yellowed. One small section was separated from the spine, but not missing. I did enjoy the book.
