The Heroic Journey of Private Galione: The Holocaust Liberator Who Changed History. I really enjoyed the book, couldn't put it down. During World War II, Mittelbau Dora Concentration Camp housed the most top-secret factory in Germany. Deep in a labyrinth of dark underground caves running through the Harz Mountains, emaciated slave laborers from Buchenwald and other camps worked under the lash of brutal Nazi guards, struggling to manufacture the world's first ballistic missile-a weapon for which the world had no defense! By April 9, 1945, the prisoners had given up all hope of being rescued. Having no food or water, they dragged themselves to the infirmary to die. The Journey of Private Galione is a compelling historical account that reveals how a single soldier on a lone mission: . Found the camp and saved the prisoners . Caused the discovery of Nordhausen, Buchenwald, and other camps . Beat the Russians to the world's most advanced missile technology . Changed world history "My God, what a book! The story of your family is enthralling . . ." -Yves Beón, Dora Survivor and Author of Planet Dora "An amazing story, and when I read it to the survivors at our Board of Directors they were touched." -Marie-Claire du Bois, daughter of a political prisoner who died at Ellrich and Secretary of the Belgian Association of the Survivors of Camp Dora "In a few more days I would have died. John Galione and his fellow soldiers saved my life!" -Michel Depierre, Dora Survivor "I was moved to tears." -Jimmy Esposito, WOBM-AM Radio Talk Show Host
  • A re-telling of an ORIGINAL TESTIMONY of a WAR HERO who kept the gruesome details to himself for over 50 years. How GOD used ONE MAN to reveal the horrors of German atrocities to their prisoners throughout World War II and how he was used to bring these stories out through his own daughter in time to gain proof of the evidence while he was still alive.

If we want to prevent these evils from being repeated by other tyrannical leaders we must know what happened before can & will happen again, unless we change people's hearts for good.

  • This is a superbly written story that is one the world needs to know, especially the Jewish people who might wonder where God was during the Holocaust. Private Galione was the man who felt he had to follow a train track in Germany during WWII and found the first Nazi camp in which Jews were kept. This also tells of an unknown fact of how we got the German scientists who were so instrumental during the cold war. This is an extraordinary story unknown until Mary Nahas wrote her father's secret story.

    Highly recommended for history readers.

  • WW2 history buffs, you may like this little gem. It is a fascinating story about a WW2 soldier's discovery of a hidden Nazi concentration camp. What is interesting about this book is how the author goes through the story of her father's life and weaves a tapestry of events that happened along the way that all seemed to lead him to this point. It was as though there was a Divine hand leading his journey. This is a nice book to add to a WW2 collection of books.

  • The Journey of Private Galione was an awesome book. I have never liked history or any thing about war and the suffering of inocent people. I discovered this book one night while listening to Mary Nahas account of her dad's life (Private Galione) on a christian televion show. Mary carefully kept notes and was an avid reseacher on how one man changed world history- especially for the United States of America. How Private Galione found the Dora concentration camp where thousands of Jewish prisoners would be set free and because of this find the NASA Space Program began.

  • After seeing this author, Mary Nahas, being interviewed on a program, I realized that the life-story of her dad and how God used him to free Jews from Hitler's grasp needed to be shared with many people. God used Private Galione to free hundreds of prisoners from concentration camps, and only now is Private Galione's story reaching the world. The circumstances surrounding that rescue militarily changed the course of the United States.
    This is a must read!!

  • Amazing story, highly recommend.

  • This was an great readable book and the history behind this man's life is Amazing!!
What the history books, teachers, scholars and the media had left out is found in this book.
Think for yourself and read the book. Mind blowing. Thanks Mary Nahas.
Your father was and is truly blessed.

  • This book was amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about this silent hero. I was so impressed by it that I purchased copies for 6 young men that I know who are serving in the military. I pray that this true story will inspire and motivate every single one of them.
