This book is free on Google books. I read it on an ipad The first few chapters tell about Pestalozzi's life and his schools. He was born in Zurich and died in Brugg, both in Switzerland.

This book is free on Google books. I read it on an ipad. It was written in 1831, but there is much in it that shows how it is a precursor to our current constructivist education. One chapter tells about starting by hearing sounds, how they are made, and what letters can represent them. It has a lot of Lindamood-Bell in it. A chapter tells about seeing relationships between numbers in math. The first few chapters tell about Pestalozzi's life and his schools. Here is a web site that has lots more information. Worth a little time if you're an educator.
