  • The book is by far the very best collection of Peanuts. I first owned this book in 1975 and unfortunately lost track of it over the years. I still laugh out loud when I read it and look at the illustrations that only Charles Schultz could create. The book was a little more beaten up than I had expected. They said it had slight binder damage but really it was considerable such that I need to be careful how I turn the pages. But.... It's an old used book and inexpensive so what can you expect? It's previous owner(s) obviously enjoyed reading this book over and over and over. There are lots of versions of this book but I would recommend that you find the one with this cover.

  • I checked out this item at a branch of the Cleveland Public Library quite a few years ago. I had been looking for another copy to buy to add with my PEANUTS TREASURY book I bought at a local bookstore. I saw some copies of the PEANUTS CLASSICS book on AMAZON. I purchased a new copy of this item and I was happy to get this copy to call my very own. Being a Peanuts fan (especially a fan of Snoopy), the comics STILL keep me laughing every time I pick up this book. I'm very happy to have this book!

  • "Schulzologists" enjoy. This is Charlie Brown and his crew at their peak in the 1960s. A favorite of mine that is in this book is the tale of Charlie Brown's adventures at camp, as well as where Lucy bamboozles CB into giving up his chance for a free movie for her. Schulz' talent for understated satire is shown during the 1968 strip that introduces the Black child Franklin to the proceedings (this actually received hate mail that Schulz wisely ignored). The issue of integration is handled deftly when Snoopy (as the Red Baron) says upon seeing Franklin for the first time, "Headquarters must be planning a big drive-I don't recognize a lot fo these new men."
This book is aptly titled. Schulzologists may also enjoy "Charlie Brown and Charlie Schulz" (a bio of both the charachter and his creator) and "Li'l Beginnings" (an anthology of the "Peanuts" predecessor "Li'l Folks" (1947-50).

  • Happy with my purchase!

  • Filled to the brim of colorful classic characters. Great book!

  • This is the one that I had as a kid. Stays on the same "theme" for many strips, which is nice. It's a wonder!

  • Classics.... any questions?

  • Awesome
