This text, which uses MATLAB, gives a detailed overview of structured programming and numerical methods for the undergraduate student. The book covers numerical methods for solving a wide range of problems, from integration to the numerical solution of differential equations or the simulation of random processes. Each chapter includes extensive examples and tasks, at varying levels of complexity. The book also includes: a glossary of MATLAB commands appendices of mathematical techniques used in numerical methods.

An Introduction to Computer Systems. 1. A First Look at Pascal. Program Expressions and Modular Structure. Almost thirty years ago, James Richards found Jesus and answered the call to ministry. 36. His dramatic conversion and passion to help hurting people launched him onto the streets of Huntsville, Alabama. His mission was to reach teenagers and drug abusers. Before his salvation, James was a professional musician with all the trappings of a worldly lifestyle. Sick of himself and his empty pursuits, he hated all that his life had become. He turned to drugs as a means of escape and relief.

Structured programming (SP) is a technique devised to improve the reliability and clarity of programs. In SP, control of program flow is restricted to three structures, sequence, IF THEN ELSE, and DO WHILE, or to a structure derivable from a combination of the basic three. The result is a program built of modules that are highly independent of each other.
