Series: Yourdon Press Computing Series. Hardcover: 400 pages. This book presents a general overview of OO design. As the back cover says, it is not aimed at the pure developer but more at the manager or systems-level designer/team leader.

Series: Yourdon Press Computing Series. It would also make a good textbook for an "Introductory to OO design" class. Two example situations are detailed - one a real-time system and the other a typical data-oriented system. While the analysis of each is thorough and well detailed, I think Mr. Yourdon wasted time by comparing different notational conventions.

Object-Oriented Systems Design book. Best-selling author and respected computer expert Edward Yourdon presents his latest work, Object-Oriented Systems Design: An Integrated Approach. The first part of this comprehensive volume introduces the concept of objects and concludes with a look at the popularity of the OO paradigm.

Object-oriented systems design. An integrated approach. The Liskov Substitution Principle.

The classes are user defined entities designed to describe the classes of objects in a problem solved by a program. We explain this concept as well as the three important concepts of object oriented computing: encapsulation, inheritance and polymorphism. Object-oriented systems design.

This book gathers together and synthesizes all that is best and correct in object-oriented technology ? emphasizing such areas as CASE tools, reuse, project management, metrics, configuration. Explains why some organizations are consciously, deliberately choosing not to implement OO software methodologies ? at least, for the time being; discusses a number of ?management? issues associated with the OO paradigm; considers the broad area of object-oriented analysis (OOA); explores object-oriented design (OOD); explains CASE technology for OO methodologies; and features a full section on how to get started with OOP. For programmers interested in OO technology.
