Lee Bailey (November 15, 1926-October 16, 2003) was an authority on luxurious life styles, and was respected for his works of writing, photography, cooking, and work as an interior designer. Bailey was born on November 15, 1926, in Bunkie, Louisiana. He was educated at the Parsons School of Design (class of 1950), after serving in the army from 1945–1946. For 6 years he taught at Tulane, then went on to teach at Parsons

  • I have several of Lee Bailey's cookbooks and really like them (Cooking for Friends, The Way I Cook, Country Weekends) and was REALLY looking forward to using this book. But I was very disappointed in these recipes--the soups and combinations just left me cold. Lentil, Fennel and Cress Soup. (I'm shrugging my shoulders) Lamb, pumpkin and Lima Bean Soup. (I'm making a face) Duck, turnip and squash soup. (Shaking my head). I'm not that parochial in my eating habits, but these combos just don't speak to me. They may float someone else's boat; but I haven't pulled this book off the shelf since I bought it.
