  • Good condition

  • I actually found this book in the reserve collection of Michigan State University's library when doing research for a paper. It actually has a lot of very good information, especially if you are looking for information about the cuisine of specific areas in Germany. The recipes look complicated and lengthy for the likes of me, but perhaps only because they are traditional!

Please advise a refund for missing parts (recipe book & slip case) because I don't
feel that the Cooking of Germany is worth the $53.97 that was charged !!

  • I agree with the other reviewer. We stumbled upon this book years ago. Frankly, I was not expecting much being a Time Life book - they do good work, but they do work to a "market" that occasionally has them broad brush things. We have made a few recipes from this book and OH MY GOODNESS!! It is like going home to Germany! I am of German lineage, and the foods here are just like my Oma used to cook!! The Schwartzwalder Torte is out of this world good!! The prices have gone nuts since I bought this, but I would pay it again if need be - it is really that good!!

  • We have owned this cookbook for years, and being of German ancestry, it is a marvelous compilation of distinctly German food and culture. Personally, the Black Forest Cherry Cake recipe is the best I have ever found and enjoyed. A MUST HAVE if you are interested in German cooking.

  • The book was in great condition - no marks or ingredient splatters. The gingerbread house pattern and directions make it a great holiday gift. I am very pleased with the purchase.

  • The condition was as stated, and the shipping was done in a timely manner. I am very happy and would gladly purchase from this seller again!

  • I have a friend who grew up in Germany.
She loved the book, said it made her very nostalgic
