Learning to Learn, Grades 4-12 : Strengthening Study Skills and Brain Power. I've been a study skills consultant for many years, and a high school teacher even longer. This book I recommend to both parents and teachers. It comes with duplicating rights for an individual teacher's classroom (but the amount of paper you'd use if you duplicated it all would be prohibitive for most schools)

  • This book is AWESOME. I have read several books on time management/organizational, note-taking and study skills (for middle school and high school) and this one tops them all. It contains reproducible forms, but mostly its value lies in its concise, to the point, spot on tips and suggestions. Highly recommended. It says it is for "all ages" and that is definitely true. There is something helpful here for anyone and everyone.

  • Fantastic study skills guide. My kids were lucky enough to live where the authors lives. They took her course in middle school and used the techniques through college.I have one child that is more of a visual learner and one auditory. This book gives you techniques to use all types of learning styles ( auditory, visual and kinesthetic) and the ability to use multiple styles for comprehensive learning. Just bought this book for my niece, that started 6th grade this school year.

  • This resource is great for kids with LDs or those without. Teachers have loved the changes in my kids since we started using this book 3 years ago. This is my second copy. I loaned the original and it's been shared among many so I needed a copy of my own again! Excellent self evaluation and skills easy to apply.

  • good book

  • I was a junior high school teacher for 25 years and now teach after school study skills classes for grades, 6-9. I purchased several books while I was looking for the one I would use in the class. It is the textbook I use in my classes. This is by far the best one around in my opinion I do not spend time on every single section for each grade level, but it works very well for all of them. It is possible to simplify or enrich each section as you are teaching. There is large a variety of printable templates suitable for a variety of grades. I am so glad I found this book!

  • This is by far the best of the study guide books I've acquired over the years for my daughter. She (well, we're still not quite there !!!) lost the previous edition but I'm more than happy to purchase this latest edition. What's so valuable about the approach is that it sets out multiple techniques - using clear language and charts - to accomplish a particular goal be it taking notes, memorizing material and so on. I tell her to quickly review the options then select the approach that she believes works best for HER. (By the way, she's having to buy the new book herself for I only purchase the first item and if it is lost then it's up to her to replace it.)

  • Best study aid I've ever used!

  • This book arrived on time in good condition. Past that wow! Very well organized and detailed. Helps you figure out learning styles, study tips, helps get you organized based on learning style, tips on studying, note taking, test taking and tons of other stuff! You it for suggestions or read the whole thing. Either way, it's almost impossible to not find this book useful. As a parent who have difficulties studying and taking tests, I wish I had this growing up, but at least I can help my kids. I'd say, it's a must have! Even helps with test taking skills!
