To ask other readers questions about Differentiating Instruction for Students with Learning Disabilities, please . I hoped this book would arm me with useful strategies but I found it to be more of a brief introduction to differentiation. I left hungry for more practical applications.

Differentiating instruction, a comprehensive approach to teaching .

Differentiating instruction, a comprehensive approach to teaching, enables the successful inclusion of all students, including the disabled, in general-education classrooms.

Offers proven ideas, examples, and tactics that will help you differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with learning disabilities, as well as other low-achieving students.
  • You can use the ideas for any student, not just "special needs" because let's face it, they all have "special needs" of one type or another.

  • Wonderful book!!!! The book is very helpful and I needed it to complete a seminar assignment. Material in this book is easy to follow and understand. I've recommended this book to others.

  • Great!

  • If you are trying to implement RTI, this book and his other one "Response to Intervention" are clear guides for professionals.

  • Once again, Dr. Bender and Corwin Press has presented a winner with this book. As the classrooms become more diversified, this resource should be available for all classroom instructors. The argument of "I am not a special education teacher and do not know how to teach this student" should be answered with handing over a copy of this book to the frustrated educator who spoke those words. Then again, it could be used as an inservice manual for all schools. Research is leading the field to realize that there is no "we-them" split in learning difficulties and that the reality is that all of us have some time type of learning difficulty.

Inside this book are strategies of differentiated instruction which should be universally found in the classroom. Familiar topics such as scaffolding, learning strategy training, as well as specific strategies for reading and math are broken down into field tested techniques.

An excellent resource for any administrator, department head and classroom teacher striving to reach all students!

  • Received this book as a gift and I love it!!!!! Just what I need preparing to enter the classroom again after ten years. Whew things have changed since then.
