For those who grew up in the '50s, Potter's photos offer a great look into the past trends that even the rod mags of the day couldn't do justice to as they were all black and white. It's amazing that "Kustomland", an area that comprised five towns in Los Angeles County, and the fertile minds and skills of its craftsmen, could be so influential. This book is also a tribute to the influence and popularity of the Dodge Lancer spinner hubcaps.

I think this is an extraordinary book of James Potter photographs. However, the print quality of off-shore (China) printing is evident and unfortunate. I have bleeds of ink coming from one side of the page into the other. So, beautiful color photos are marred from a black and white image on a following page. As for the content, excellent which is why I give this four stars. MBI publishing should do more to ensure better print quality and may have to observe the process more closely and not cut essential corners when creating books. Mr. Potter, an excellent photographer of superior skills would be disappointed to see his images reproduced like a newstand rag.

This is a review of many of the pictures of custom cars by James E. Potter shot in the 50 and 60s. Outstanding book.
