  • This textbook helped me out a lot. I read through it from cover to cover and was satisfied with the information. The way it presented itself was much like Modern Automotive Technology, Edition 8 (GW, 2011), which is what I was looking for. I will be honest, however, I wish GW had a more up-to-date version of this text. It hardly delves into fuel injection systems, but otherwise does a good job on everything else. For instance, it clearly discusses carburetors and related components.
    I could go on, but i'll give you my summary:

    If you need a place to start or you need a solid resource/reference, this is the book for you.

    The book's title leads you to believe that it is a manual but it is not. The product description on Amazon does not make this fact clear. There were other reviewers who have highlighted the same fact. I noticed those reviews only after the book arrived.
    This is not a textbook or a Workbook, but it contains answer keys to the questions in another book.

  • My teacher; Mr. Price, swears by THIS BOOK but... Every (open book) test we have - I get pretty dang annoyed because I have yet to find an EASY ANSWER out of it!!! I am very much a beginner at motorcycles & this book does an ok job at explaining things to beginners.

  • Bought thinking it was the text... it's not, it's the workbook. Not super useful without the text, but the text is way pricey.

  • I was trying to find the Textbook when I ordered this and when it arrived, it was exactly that - a Workbook. It is a book to put notes in and answers to questions referring to Textbook. If this is what you are after, it is perfect. If you are like me, know that this has no information on motorcycles - it is simply a workbook.

  • The book is well-written and nicely illustrated. It gives a very good introduction to would-be motorcycle technicians as well as people who want to work on motorcycles as a hobby. It covers the basics of the motorcycle technology that was relevant in the year the book was published (1999). Both text and illustrations are very detailed.

    This is an excellent reference book to have in your collection if you work on motorcycles or are interested in the intricacies of motorcycle technology.

    What we really need now, is an updated revised edition with the latest technology included.
