  • good

  • This it the classic book that initially defined what to do on a Big Block Chevy back in the late 60's. While the parts are dated, the knowledge of what you are dealing with is not. This is still a decent read for someone starting to accumulate knowledge on Big Block Chevys.

  • The book provides some insight into the design of the big block Chevrolet engine. However, the majority of the book is dedicated to saying the OEM equipment is better in all ways than the aftermarket equipment. Additionally, the part numbers provided are for a narrow range of years.

All that being said, for someone who is ignorant of building engines and the intricacies of their components, this is still a recommended book.

  • same GREAT BOOK WE used in High School late 60-early 70's when muscle cars were king.... Now great for restoration guides....

  • Worth Every Penny. This book was extremely helpful while rebuilding my BBC 402. I recommend getting a book like this if you plan anything more than a factory rebuild, it's got alot of little tips and tricks to make the build process smooth and painless.

  • This book may have been useful 20 years ago when aftermarket parts were hard to come by for big blocks. Today, aftermarket parts come in a wide variety with multiple buying options such as Craig's list and Ebay and various internet sites. This book is more about swapping factory GM parts which is something that is probably harder to do and more expensive today than it was 30 years ago. What the book does have is good general information about big blocks and any information has value. How to Rebuild Your Big Block Chevy is a better book.

  • Good reading
