Management contends that some risk is inescapable in any line of work.

Safety hazards may appear more grave, but there are probably many health hazard-related illnesses and deaths which are not documented. Management contends that some risk is inescapable in any line of work. Therefore, their answer to the question is no. The worker bears some of the risk in return for his/her pay for the job.

For senior/graduate-level courses in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology and Operations Management. Unique in approach, this text combines - in one volume - an exploration of the time-tested concepts and techniques of safety and health management, a modern perspective on compliance with mandatory standards for workplace safety and health, and a variety of solved problems, case studies, and exercises. It provides reasons, explanations, and illustrations of the hazard mechanisms that form the underlying basis for the volumes of detailed standards for workplace safety and health.
  • this book has many errors. It had pages 53-68 duplicated and left pages 69-84 out. I can not take test without all the info covered. The contents page states that I am missing hazard-classification scale. That is what I have found thus far. Only two weeks into 8 week course. NOT happy at all.

  • The book was in very good shape. It arrived when scheduled, with no hiccups. Considering this was my third attempt to purchase and actually get this book, I am quite pleased.

  • Book in good condition. Was the exact material needed to complete my college course.

  • I bought this as a text. Not bad but not the best either; you'd be better off finding a current year review of the laws as specific for the state that you are doing the work in through a professional safety publishing company. The material on the CD is a waste.

  • Great!

  • Received it immediately. Needed it for class and got it before class started even though I ordered it later than I should have, great condition.

  • The only thing was the binding is starting to come apart. I had to tape the first page back togethet. Other than that it has been great.

  • Covered and helped me understand everything we went over in class. I could see myself using this for reference later in my career also.
