  • The idea of the book is great, and I was eager to buy it. But I was quite disappointed by the following points. Actually, the book does not contain a Russian-English part, but the Russian-English index, which is a different thing. The English-Russian part and the Russian-English index contain about 6,000 entries each instead of the declared amount of 30,000. The book is not an independent work, but a translation of Dr.R.Sheriff's Encyclopedic dictionary, and some very important terms (such as "bin" and "binning") were dropped during translation, while some general unnecessary terms were added (such as "recent", "roughly", "reduce", "residue", "remainder", "logarithm", "subtract", "compute", "dismember", and so on).
Hopefully, the next editions will be free of these drawbacks.

  • I have been trastating technical documentation from English to Rusiian. I found this book extråmåly usfull. It contains most popular methods of exploration in geophysics and a lot of other necessary information: such as interpretation of seismic data and terminology used in geoexploration. Just one problem with this book that is extremely expensive, that is why I am writing this review.
