I love, love, love Ellen Blance's Monster series. They are these super cute readers about the world's friendliest monster named Monster. What a delight it is to Meet Monster in a wonderful book by the same name, written by Ellen Blance and Ann Cook! I first "met Monster" in the 1970s as a primary grades public school teacher (and a mother). The Monster Books, as they were then called, were a series of small paperbacks for young readers.

A monster likes his house. He goes out to play ball and can't find anyone to play with. Eventually he locates his best friend, a boy, and they agree to live together.
