Love and Freindship is a juvenile story by Jane Austen, dated 1790. From the age of eleven until she was eighteen, Austen wrote her tales in three notebooks. These still exist, one in the Bodleian Library and the other two in the British Museum. They contain, among other works, Love and Freindship, written when she was fourteen, and The History of England, written when she was fifteen.

  • An utterly readable and fascinating book, highly recommended! I have read other books by this author and each one different yet equally readable. The story line is strong, characters are real, an all-together brilliant book that will not disappoint. Maureen Rowland-Aitken Johannesburg South Africa

  • This is a book that you can read, put down, pick up again and not really worry that you might have "missed" anything. The storyline - albeit a little far-fetched and unrealistic in parts - does keep your interest long enough to want to finish the book. Light reading. An enjoyable and pleasant read - without being memorable.

  • Great book. Great characters. A good read.

  • The book's pages were a little yellowed and the small print made it difficult for me to read unfortunately fro me.

  • I originally read this book when it was published about 20years ago. It was great then and is still great. Hilary Norman has a way of beautifully weaving the past and present together. The characters are fully developed and timeless. I love all of her books and I highly recommend them to others.

  • Boring.
