There was little sleep for any of the party that night. The Indianswere preparing to set out on the war-path, while my companions sat upnot knowing at what moment the Coomanches might burst upon us, and I waskept awake by the pain my legs continued to cause me. Yellow Wolf, onseeing how much I suffered, sent his wife over with a supply of salvesto doctor me. She was crying because they had been bullying her. This is not going to be a school story, so I shall say as little as possible about Jill's school, which is not a pleasant subject. It was "Co-educational," a school for both boys and girls, what used to be called a "mixed" school; some said it was not nearly so mixed as the minds of the people who ran it.

It is refreshing to find a new Adventure Movie of the same caliber as the classic books written by Jules Verne. The adult, Daniel proceeds to tell the adventure tale of a young boy who finds a medallion. The themes are outstanding because it begins in a foster home where an adult tells a story, and, the youngsters who listen learn they are valuable individuals. The choice of a 13 year old boy actor, Billy Unger, in the role of Billy Stone gives this tale real value as a family DVD. Also, the selection of Sammi Hanratty in the role of 13 year old girl Alli.

It explains how Silver lost his left leg, what turned Gabby Pew into a blind beggarman, what happened to Captain Flint and the Walrus, and how Billy Bones escaped with the map which marked the place of the buried treasure. The Adventures of Long John Silver is a book for all who know and love Treasure Island. It brilliantly recaptures the swashbuckling era of buccaneering and piracy on the high seas, the great naval wars between Britain, France and Spain, the gross cruelty of the slave trade, and the pirate raids upon the coast of India.
