Since there's no known cure, you might as well lie back and enjoy his latest attack, a compulsively readable story about an alliance between the New York Mafia and Irish Loyalists to recover 50 million pounds worth of stolen gold bullion from the bottom of the Irish Sea.

The Jack Higgins style builds up to an exciting pitch as the plot unfolds. Great character development brings the reader to an unpredictable ending. The Jack Higgins style builds up to an exciting pitch as the plot unfolds.

The race is on to recover the bullion. Irish militant Michael Ryan wants to finance war in his homeland – and a sinister pact with the New York Mafia will make his dreams a savage reality. To stop him, the British and American authorities must call in the best: Sean Dillon, once the most feared IRA enforcer, now working for British Intelligence. His mission: to retrieve the gold and stop Ryan by any means necessary. With millions of pounds, and countless innocent lives hanging in the balance, the two men become locked in a furious race

In the early evening of the day they had arrived in London, Ryan, Keogh, and Kathleen sat with him in a backroom, an assortment of handguns on the table. Bell, a large, jovial man with white hair, poured himself a whiskey. Anything you like, Michael, and there’s more where that came from.

I’ve never been more certain and with Keogh along- He shrugged. Fifty million pounds in gold bullion, Kathleen. A strange one, she said. Can you trust him? • The Sean Dillon series by Jack Higgins is great but some are better than others. Drink with the Devil is not quite as good as some of the others but it still keeps you intrigued. Its hard to put the book down and it keeps you wondering what Dillon is up to next. I definitely recommend it along with the rest of the series.

  • Exciting, but they all start sounding the same. Like he cuts out pieces of different books and puts them in new ones. Easy read. Fast paced but predictable

  • Great story. Liked the two part bit. Dillon was not as bloodthirsty this time. All the characters were brought together nicely.

  • The Jack Higgins style builds up to an exciting pitch as the plot unfolds. Great character development brings the reader to an unpredictable ending

  • I enjoyed the book because it was a fast read, and I was able to finish it quickly. I have read several of Jack Higgins books, and there were times when I had read a situation before. But, in this book, they worked into the story line nicely, and, overall I enjoyed this book.
