This book was just published  . Thread starter Carol Lynn Caswell. Start date Mar 3, 2004. C. This book was just published. It is my family's story and it tells how they were affected by the sinking of the Titanic and their relationship with the Astors. The story spans two hundred years and was developed from authentic letters.

Elsie kept The Little Brown Suitcase under her bed most of her adult life. ISBN13:9781410785978.

University of New Mexico.

The Old Brown Suitcase, while dealing with historical events, could also help focus a discussion . The Old Brown Suitcase I think that this book was very touching.

The Old Brown Suitcase, while dealing with historical events, could also help focus a discussion about current wars and today's refugees. It was educational hearing about what happened to the Jews in the war, and good hearing about this girl's veiw of the war, being right inside it. I think that if this book were rated out of 10, 1 being the lowest, I would give it a 10. Sure call me a softy for giving it perfect, but I really enjoyed this book.

Freckles has always been a good little bunny that was taught to be nice and caring towards others. The opportunity to be popular arises and Freckles soon finds herself choosing popularity over friends. Two classes get to go on a field trip to the local bakery where Boots' brother Sherlock works. Freckles has been told that Boots' family is not cool and weird. Freckles and her new crowd are laughing at others just because they're not true friends.

Rich fur traders, an unscrupulous adventurer, a fateful fight on a New York pier, an old sea chest, a will lost for over one hundred years, a beautiful heiress, the sinking of the Titanic, stolen documents, arson, and possibly even murder are a part of the story found in Elsie Emerick Bryan's Little Brown Suitcase. Elsie kept The Little Brown Suitcase under her bed most of her adult life. Papers and letters in the suitcase reveal how her relative, John Nicholas Emerick, partner to John Jacob Astor I, lost control of his vast fortune and how it ultimately all ended up in Astor's pockets. The story recounts the struggle by Elsie and her family to reclaim their rightful inheritance. It tells of hopes placed on a passenger traveling home from Europe on the Titanic; a passenger who could right this great wrong. Authentic letters from the seventeen, eighteen, and nineteen hundreds, located in The Little Brown Suitcase, were used in the development of this story. This story has not been told before. While being presented here as historical fiction, many of the events in this turbulent tale are true.
