  • This is a great collection of storis and events experienced firsthand by the great artist. He is a very good writer, concise, descriptive, full of humor and personality. Since we all know him as the painter and sculptor first and foremost, I was surprised to find what a good writer he was. Whether relaying a store about hunting or a cowboy roundup, his descriptions are great, and through his words you get a sharp sense of environment, landscape, the people, the sky, the horses, the food----in short, texture. The stories move along at a gallop and before you know it, you have reached the end of the journey and want to go back and enjoy it all over again.

  • This was not a very interesting book. It was mostly about how guns worked and how Indians were fought against. Not interesting in my estimation.

  • How lucky you can download this for free. Stories are more than excellent by today's standards
