SIDELIGHTS: Nancy Price was a published poet and a college educator when her first novel, A Natural Death, was published in 1973. Six years passed before the publication of Price's next novel, An Accomplished Woman. Since then, she has penned several more well-received books, including the suspenseful thriller Sleeping with the Enemy, which was made into a successful film in 1991. The book portrays the life of Catherine, an intelligent girl who grows up helping her step-uncle with natural biology projects and as a result is more interested in things intellectual than the feminine accomplishments necessary for social ease in the 1920s and 1930s.
