You won’t find a more enjoyable nove. .Masterfully wrought, sure to delight a reader with even half a sense of humor. McEwan writes the sort of witty repartee and scathing retort we wished we’d thought of in the heat of battle.

Ian McEwan In Amsterdam, a contemporary morality tale that is as profound as it is witty, we have Ian McEwan at his wisest and most wickedly disarming.

On a chilly February day, two old friends meet in the throng outside a crematorium to pay their last respects to Molly Lane. Both Clive Linley and Vernon Halliday had been Molly's lovers in the days before they reached their current eminence. In Amsterdam, a contemporary morality tale that is as profound as it is witty, we have Ian McEwan at his wisest and most wickedly disarming. And why Amsterdam? What happens there to Clive and Vernon is the most delicious climax of a novel brimming with surprises. Winner of the 1998 Booker Prize.

Amsterdam by Ian McEwan. Maybe my relationship to McEwan novels would be enthusiastic if a caring book gnome ripped out the last 10 pages in his entire works? As it is, I conclude that.

  • Good vocabulary, interesting and good translate
