The Garden of Love" is a poem by the Romantic poet William Blake. It was published as part of his collection, Songs of Experience. The first two stanzas of the poem are written in a loose anapestic trimeter and rhyme abcb. The third stanza begins in the same way, but the last two lines of this stanza make a sharp break with the form of the preceding stanzas. These concluding lines are written in tetrameter rather than trimeter, and they fail to maintain the abcb rhyme scheme.

Other poets of the early Romantic period. The later Romantics: Shelley, Keats, and Byron. Other poets of the later period. The novel: from the Gothic novel to Austen and Scott. The post-Romantic and Victorian eras. Early Victorian literature: the age of the novel. But feeling had begun to receive particular emphasis and is found in most of the Romantic definitions of poetry.
