Dana Marton is the author of more than a dozen fast-paced, action-adventure romantic suspense novels and a winner of the Daphne du Maurier Award of Excellence. She loves writing books of international intrigue, filled with dangerous plots that try her tough-as-nails heroes and the special women they fall in love with.

When Istvan had jumped on top of her in that ditch, he’d probably knocked it from her pocket. And, naturally, there wasn’t a house in sight where she could ask to use a landline. And, naturally, there wasn’t a house in sight where she could ask to use a landline ver country roads that were even worse in the hills than elsewhere. She tried not to think that Istvan might already be dead. Tried to keep in mind that she had to keep the car on the left side of the road if she didn’t want to die in a head-on collision.

It's Lauryn, he realizes, who's reached out to him and touched him as no other woman has. She's the one who could wear the crown…if they live to recapture it!
  • It was ok. I have read others that were better, but all in all, if you want to read a princess story this one is decent.

  • If you are looking for a page turner, fill with lots of danger and adventure, pick up a Dana Marton novel. And this one is no exception. She can keep you saying, "just one more page and I will quit for the night." The only trouble with that is, there is another page that follows.......Loved it.

  • I will so miss the Kerkay Princes and their strong and intelligent American wives...So loved this series of books! Dana is gifted writer who pours her heart and soul into her characters, their setting, and of course the plot! Thanks Dana!

  • Love this series. Dana Marton is a great writer. Always enjoy her stories.

  • After the Crown Jewels and other royal artifacts are stolen, the prince decides to chase after the thieves already knowing whom had a hand in the heist. But she surprises him more than he ever expected.
She can't seem to escape her past no matter how hard she's worked to get where she's at but she's determined to prove herself as she helps the prince claim his stolen goods.

I love harlequin romances. The twisted romance that is perfect and wrong and right in so many ways. The undertones of sexual appeal that keeps you turning the page to see how far they'll go. This story had romance, intrigue, and suspense. I love her sense of pride and strength and wanting to change how people see her instead of looking to her past. I loved the princes fight for what he believes, and what he feels for her and that he doesn't try to control every move knowing it's useless. They were great together and I can't wait to read more from this author.

  • Royal Captive (June 2010) is book four in the miniseries Defending the Crown, the heroes of which are all princely brothers in the kingdom of Valtria. All different and yet all sexy alpha heroes. When the crown jewels go missing after a visit from Lauryn Steler, museum curator, the chase is on. Prince Istvan, the quiet scholar of the family, sets out in hot pursuit of Lauryn and the jewels. More breathtaking fast-paced action with sizzle and heat - Dana Marton's Intrigues read like a mission impossible episode! Always page turners and great late night reads!

  • Learning from your past and gaining strength is a theme running through every page of this book. Both our hero, Prince Istvan of Valtria, an archaeologist and our heroine, Lauryn Steler, a museum curator, the past is full of intriguing items, itching to touched, examined and learned from in great detail, nothing overlooked, no detail big or small. But when it comes to their own lives, both our hero and heroine want to forget many aspects, holding onto all the hurt, making it the definition of who they are in every moment of their lives. Objects replace people as tangible, trustworthy, and worth treasuring. If they could learn to trust each other, and themselves, could they learn the past holds lessons, and strengths that define who we are and items to rely on just as the items to be dug up and displayed?

A page turner! Suspense, love, excitement, all the marks of a wonderful Harlequin Intrigue

  • I've thoroughly enjoyed all 4 books in this mini-series. There are 7 royal brothers however and where are the other 3 books? Why was this left hanging?
