Elena roamed Audubon’s house, drawn farther and farther from her suite until she reached the destination that had taunted her for hours rge, dark vestibule outside Audubon’s private wing. Stopping there in tormented silence, she wondered if he could see her because of some hidden camera, if he might be watching her make a fool of herself. She went to the heavily carved double doors and flattened her hands on them, wishing that the wood could talk. He was just inside, but so far away.

I think this book was previously published in 1990 as The Silver Fox and the Red Hot Dove in the Loveswept series. Audubon now has his own story with Eleana a Russian scientist. It's strange how some things never change over the years with spying and intrigue. I like Ms. Smith's style and humor.

  • Reasonably interesting piece of Cold War nostalgia. Lots of references to characters and events from other books in the series, but it was not intrusive in the story. It was a fun, but light, story.

  • An oldie from the days when Deborah Smith was still learning her craft. Typical of the Loveswept/Harlequin genre. I really like Deborah Smith, but not this one.

  • Love Deborah Smith books, and this is another winner.

  • good book

  • Such an interesting mix of characters...I love the details of the area and also this wonderful love story. Thank you Deborah for all your research that you put into all of your books...

  • I think this book was previously published in 1990 as The Silver Fox and the Red Hot Dove in the Loveswept series. T.S. Audubon now has his own story with Eleana a Russian scientist. It's strange how some things never change over the years with spying and intrigue. Good story. I like Ms. Smith's style and humor. She has many titles available and they're all good.

  • The reader is treated to Audubon and Elena's story which was actually a part of series of books when first published in 1991 with suspense, spies and Audubon finally finding love. Have the series from Loveswept in paperback on the shelf and enjoyed getting to read this tale again in ebook form. Can be read alone but hope to see the other books in this series in ebook form .

Ebook from Net galley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
