My Dear Friends, I am delighted to bring you the first book in my brand-new romantic suspense series starring accidental detective Mojo Sheepshanks, her dead ex-husband, Nick, a ghost cat, a hunky undercover cop named Tucker Darroch and Mojo’s foster sisters, Jolie and Greer. She’s funny, brave, inventive and smart.

Mojo Sheepshanks is quite a character. Her backstory is most interesting. This is my first novel by Linda Lael Miller.

Mojo by. Linda Lael Miller (Goodreads Author). Mojo Sheepshanks is quite a character. she survived a trauma when she was very young and was abducted by her babysitter. Up until recently I never read anything with a western theme and L. L. Miller writes many contemporary and historical western themed romances. Well, don't judge a book by it's cover. Deadly Gamble is a contemporary romantic suspense novel.

I read everything that Linda Lael Miller writes and I love her books but I was not impressed with this one or the Deadly Deception

I read everything that Linda Lael Miller writes and I love her books but I was not impressed with this one or the Deadly Deception. Deadly Gamble had moments where it was interesting or fun but it is they were far between, The love story part was convoluted and the book was too long for the storyline. Deadly Deceptions was better mostly because it was shorter and the storyline moved a little faster. I was surprised that I did not love this book because I read all of her books over and over again.

Secondhand Bride (McKettrick Cowboys Trilogy by Linda Lael Miller -- Dear Reader:Willow is a novel from early in my career, and it was originally shorter than many of my other historical romances. Loved this whole series! Love reading anything by Linda Lael Miller! I'm back on a McKettrick kick and can't get enough! Thank you, Linda! Span throughout Time. Secondhand Bride (mckettrick Cowboys Trilogy #3).

In DEADLY GAMBLE, Miller introduces us to Mojo Sheepshanks. Mojo is a young woman who is an intriguing blend of tough, independent, stubborn and vulnerable with a bit of rebel thrown in, a perfect fit for modern day Arizona. At the age of five she witnessed the brutal murder of her parents, which she has blocked from memory. She was kidnapped by her babysitter, Lillian, who feared for her safety

She's betting on a ghost. And taking a chance on love…Losing her memory in a mysterious tragedy years before left Mojo Sheepshanks not knowing who she is or how to get on with her life. Now the wisecracking Mojo, who hangs out at Bad-Ass Bert's Biker Saloon in Cave Creek, Arizona, suddenly begins seeing ghosts…and discovering clues to her real identity. Meanwhile, sexy cop Tucker Darroch has her heart racing and her passions revved up to maximum overdrive, but is it safe to let go and love the man? Really love him?Everything becomes even more complicated when a wealthy man claiming to be Mojo's long-lost uncle turns up. Not only that, she's being stalked by her ex-con half brother! As she and Tucker work to uncover the facts, she'll need all her savvy and strange new talent to keep someone from burying her—and the truth.
  • I'm really disappointed. Based on reviews and the author stating Mojo was her favorite character, I expected this to be the best book. Ever. Not even close! As far as mystery and suspense, I figured out the bad guy early in the book. As far as romance, it's almost nonexistent! I don't much care for Mojo, and I don't particularly care for Tucker and his beyond odd family life - ex-wife and twins. The books ending was HORRIBLE! It certainly wasn't a happily-ever-after ending.

Im going to read book two ONLY because I have it. Hopefully it's better than book one. Three stars, in my opinion, is being generous, more because I'm a big fan of the authors, a less because the book was deserving.

I will read these again and I am sorry about that. I will however, continue to read her books.

  • Loved this book! Story pulls you in and you can't but the book down till the end. I hope she writes more books about Mojo Sheepshanks!

  • After reading the first book, I couldn't wait for the sequel. I think I liked the first one better, but the main character was a hoot. Wish she wrote more in this series.

  • Always a fan of Linda Lael Miller, she tells good stories, making a good read.

  • Read all of Lael's books; enjoy her style and story telling. Diana

  • Got hooked on this one as soon as I read the first paragraph. The ghost thing is a really great gotya. A truly amazing page turner, bring on more of MOJO..........

  • Another good book by Linda Lael MIller. This is the second one I've read by this author and enjoyed it almost as much as the first one I read. I'll read more of her books.
