This is a very creative idea. I wish there were more house styles. My daughter and I both loved this book. I would like to see a victorian, an italianate, maybe even a Frank Lloyd Wright style house.

We received this beautifully detailed dollhouse from a friend when her little girl outgrew it. That was 7 years ago and our 3 girls are still enjoying this gorgeous play book. I even find myself drawn into to its details and play along with our girls. It is completely irresistible. We have kept it put away and take it out just for special occasions or when I need the girls to play quietly for a long time. Then we put it away again.

Because it folds up into a book, it is easy to take anywhere. I can't think of a single other item that packs as much imaginative play into such a small space.

This week, we even let our 3 year old use it since she was recovering from surgery. We were desperate to keep her playing quietly so that she wouldn't start bleeding. She is such an active little girl that nothing, not even play dough or movies, would hold her interest long enough to keep her sitting still- Until I pulled out this book. She played with it for 3 days straight!

Although, I wouldn't recommend letting a 3 year old play with it. I just thought that if our daughter damaged it, I'd buy another one. The book is very sturdy and can handle real play but, I would say that it would work best for ages 5 and up or maybe even a 4 year old if the little girl is very careful. The book definitely took some damage from our 3 year old but it was worth it to keep her resting for 3 days after surgery. And she still plays with it, even if it's not in perfect condition.

I just wish it wasn't so expensive! I had no idea how much these books cost until today when I looked on Amazon. I was going to buy one for my 3 little nieces but not for $200! Anybody know where you can get one for a cheaper price?

This is a beautifully ornate detailed pop-up turn-of-the-century dollhouse. It is a 2-story house with 8 rooms. It's a great gift for anyone who loves an old fashioned romantic collectible.

This book is incredible-- each room is amazingly detailed, with pop-up furniture that can actually be used by small dolls (if you have them), including beds, sofas, a bathtub, even a toilet with a flip-up lid! The detail is so perfect that when I peered in between two inner walls, to a space that would never be seen in its entirety during play, I could see that they'd printed wood studs on the reverse sides! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys miniatures. Even my 4-year-old loves to play with it, and the best part is that it folds away to be stored on a bookshelf!

My Aunt gave me this as a gift when I was a little girl (probably 5 or 6 years old). I was fascinated by the detail in the dolls and each of the rooms (the picture of the sewing sampler in the little girl's room and the old-fashioned toilet in the bathroom seemed particularly amazing), and spent many happy hours playing with this. I'm not sure what happened to the house (probably somewhere at my mother's), but I still have most of the dolls.

The house held up surprisingly well over the years (I was generally pretty hard on my toys). The house is held closed by ribbons sandwiched between layers of binding, and eventually the binding around the ribbons started to separate. One of the dolls' heads ripped off when I was about nine, but it was an easy fix (I reinforced the backs of all the dolls with construction paper).

I'm really excited about coming across this item randomly on amazon! I'll probably buy this for my eight year-old niece this Christmas.

This book is amazing! I have had this book for many years and my great-granddaughter loves it. I was thrilled when I found it on Amazon! I took it to her and her eyes lit up and she has played with it ever since. She loves it and has promised to take excellent care of it forever.

This 3D paper-doll house is really well made. We were given this exact book/doll house years ago when a friend's daughter moved to college. She had played with it for years, my girls played with it for years and loved it so much I decided to look for another. We found one used on amazon and snatched it up. Now that I have three daughters I'm glad we have two of these houses. They are always out and are the house of choice not only for paper dolls but also for barbies, little critters and stuffed animals.
My son has the medieval castle 3D book and he loves it for Lego and action figures.
All in all it's a great product.

I assumed that the cardboard people and other items would be included with this doll house. What I received was only the book that unfolds into the house. I had purchased a similar one some years ago that included the items that could be used to play with the house. I am disappointed with this pricey purchase.
