The Jungle Book book.
With a New Introduction. Published by the Penguin Group. by Alev Lytle Croutier. The Jungle Books show a world as Kipling believed it should be, ruled by powerful and wise laws that are communal, practical, and unquestionable, obeyed by all who live there. As an Englishman in England, Kipling believed that some people-those who were white and spoke English-were better made out to rule. But in his writing, in the Jungle Books for instance, such racist assertions are contradicted.
Редьярд Киплинг The Jungle Book. Now Rann, the Kite, brings home the night That Mang, the Bat, sets free - The herds are shut in byre and hut, For loosed till dawn are we. This is the hour of pride and power, Talon and tush and claw. Oh, hear the call! – Good hunting all That keep the Jungle Law! Night-Song in the Jungle.
A full-cast dramatisation of Kipling's classic animal adventure starring Eartha Kitt. Rudyard Kipling's famous tale tells the story of Mowgli, the 'man-cub' rescued from the tiger Shere Khan and adopted by a wolf pack. As he grows up, Mowgli learns the ways of the jungle from Baloo the bear, Bagheera the black panther and Kaa the rock python. His life is full of adventure with the jungle creatures, but soon the time comes when he is forced to leave and take his place among his own people.
Jungle Book II tells of the further adventures of Mowgli, the boy raised by wolves in the jungle. Kipling, who as a novelist dramatized the ambivalence of the British colonial experience, was born of English parents in Bombay and as a child knew Hindustani better than English. Through his cunning and fearlessness, Mowgli earns the respect of the animals of the jungle. He leads his wolf-brothers into battle against a threatening pack of red dogs. He spent an unhappy period of exile from his parents (and the Indian heat) with a harsh aunt in England, followed by the public schooling that inspired his "Stalky" stories.
