Mark Shulman really does a good job with mixing things up in this superb alphabetic backward experience. I really enjoyed the way the each letter has several references in the pictures, so not only are you understanding that the letter is at the end of every word, but your trying to find others on the page that do the same. Double the letters--double the fun! You've never seen an ABC book quite like this. Each page features words or phrases where the letters of the alphabet "double up." Two by two the letters come, in a riot of inventive language, fun sounds, and witty images: DD is for puddle, but that's not all. The illustration shows a crazy, chaotic street full of animals, including ducks enjoying a swim, plus a sign that says "No waddling in the middle of the muddy road" and a "Daddy-O" license plate. It's an unusual approach that's really irresistible, and perfect for parents, teachers, and librarians who'd like a new and entertaining way to teach the alphabet to little ones.
  • I bought this book as a gift after finding a cute aardvark stuffed animal. One of my favorite gifts to give is the book and stuffed animal combo, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a good book to go with the stuffed toy, but thanks to this book I had nothing to worry about. This book is great for young learners and the artwork is bright and fun. I highly recommend this book and others by this author.

  • Our son is 4 and he LOVES this book! Although he can't read yet, he still likes the variety and wacky situations in the book, they really engage him and make him laugh! He also enjoys the double letter words when we read it. Great book!

  • The book was in good condition, yet I was surprised to find writing inside the front cover. Other than that, I was pleased with the book and how quickly it arrived. Thank you.

  • This is a fun one that even young ones will enjoy as they search for the double letters in the words. Kindergarten and up will have fun and they'll also broaden their vocabulary. The illustrations are silly and inviting--it's almost like a search-and-find book looking for those double letters! First and second graders will strengthen their spelling skills. Fun and educational - a win-win book for children and their parents. - Biblio Reads Children's Book Review

  • I like this book because it has double letters instead of just regular abc's and my brother really likes the part of the book that says "ww is for [...]". We make my mom read it over and over again. Kids will love this book.
