Truman also lead us through the Korean War. That’s all I can think, but Truman was a man who was thrust into the presidency and forced to make tough decisions in a short amount of time. Upon the death of FDR he became president little was known of him and VERY LITTLE was expected of him. He quickly grasped the danger coming from our former WW2 ally the USSR. I know that he desegregated the armed forces and I applaud that. And I know that he guided the US through a time of grief and crises with the death of FDR while World War II continued.
