  • The book itself is very well made and very appealing to look at. The mechanics work well and are not very hard for small children to master. The story is a little dark; the penguins keep disappearing in all sorts of ways that is a little worrying. But, it’s all done in rhyme and somehow the sing song rhythm takes the edge off their departing. Plus all the penguins do finally turn up on the last page and have a happy ending.

I bought this for my granddaughter who is two. I would recommend it to a friend.

  • This story is so fabulous! I think i might like reading this even more than my sons like hearing it. The story is witty and cute and the pop-ups are the best i've ever seen. Each page one of the penguins meets some calamity and disappears (which sounds morbid, but its just silly when you read it) and at the end they all come back. A must own, on high rotation in my gift giving repetoir!

  • This is a very cute book about penguins that helps children learn about numbers and counting. Every page has a new, fun, interactive way for one of the penguins to disappear mischievously. They disappear one by one and, in the end, all the penguins come back again.

  • This book is so darn funny. The penguins, one by one, die in crazy ways, but in the end, they are all fine. My daughter loves all the interactive pop ups. This book isn't for people who take things too seriously. I have bought this as a gift for friends' kids and they all love it.

  • Its a very cute book. My daughter did tear into it a bit just because it is a pop up book. But she likes it a lot and would ask to read it over and over again.

  • I have read this to children at the library for story hour and they really like it. My two young granddaughters liked it too. Unfortunately some one walked off with my copy. I needed to replace it. I'm just glad that I could still get a copy.

  • I have a huge collection of pop-up books ... for adults and children. The Little Penguins; A Pop-Up Book is such a sweet little book, I appreciate having it in my collection. If you are teaching your child how to count, this is a little fun book. Learning IS FUN!!

  • Let's start by saying my son loves penguins. This has been one of his favorite books since he was two. He is now six. There is something to move on every page. Helps teach counting.
