  • Love just received this am ... Fast ship... Beautiful... Bright ... Book! Love easy to explain... Fun to read... My daughter is 4 .. The dictionary is that fun you can sit and read it and it's Not boring for you and the child ! They also included some Dictionary Games... !! Anyways great all around perfect!

  • Perfect for my 5-year old who is just starting to learn how to spell and read in kindergarten. I looked through almost all of the children's dictionaries available on Amazon before making a purchase. The big advantages of this dictionary is that it has a picture for EVERY word, so even children who can't read at all can find the right word. Most of the other so called "picture dictionaries" only had one picture a page and tones of words with text explanations only, which is useless for someone who can't read. It's easy and intuitive to use and build the habit of looking things up. The level of the word is also appropriate for early learners - granted it's mostly nouns, some verbs and small number of adjectives, but you won't need much more than that for kindergarten. The illustrations are pretty, to the point, and well picked photos. Also a generally pleasing book to look at.

  • Recommended age 5-9. My sons age 2. He LOVES it! We actively take a word each day and talk about it, find it, touch it, use it etc. He's so eager to find the word and image in the book, then connect it in real life. At his age this book is great fun, at 5-9 years of age this product must be a a wonderful reference book for kids to use without parental guidance. The images and text are clear and the content age appropriate. Another DK success.

  • This is my 20 month old son's favorite book. When he wants to read, he will go to the shelf where there about 40 books, including an ever rotating library selection, and he will choose this book nearly every day. At first he would point to pictures and ask tirelessly what was there. Now, 3 months later, when he points, I ask him what he sees, and delights in naming and describing the pictures! It's a beautiful book with clear pictures and simple descriptions, and it has more than nouns! There are also a handful of emotions, which is awesome and helpful for the toddler crowd. The only downside is that we've had to reinforce nearly every page with tape because he is a vigorous page turner. It's also big enough that I can read it to two toddlers at once.

  • I love to have a picture dictionary around the house for my favorite young visitors. This one is colorful and contains easily understood illustrations, and I recommend it for early literacy. Learning about language should be fun, and this book makes certain that it is!Holá Cuba! (Granny on the Road Books Book 1)

  • The pictures are really nice... but when I started to read the definitions, not only would they be difficult for a child to read or understand, but there are FACTUAL ERRORS... I found several on the first couple of pages I looked at. What is the point of a dictionary that is just plain wrong. One is supposed to learn from and rely on dictionaries to find out things.

  • I brought this when my daughter was entering 2nd grade. It's much suited for kindergarten to 2nd grade from my perspective. Some of my daughter's weekly spelling words were not in the book, however it was a great introduction dictionary for her to understand the logic's of how to use one.

  • I bought it for the Grand Kids and they just love it! We need to get the children away from so much electronic gizmos before it's too late, and it may be already too late! But I have to keep on trying! You Too?
