  • The author did an amazing job with the characters in this book. While written for middle grade readers, I would recommend it for adults too. The twists and turns in the plot keep the story moving forward at a fast pace that has you turning the pages (so to speak on an E-reader). Excellent book with a touching end!

  • ok

  • Purchased for daughter. She loved it very exciting and keep your interest until end. Will recommend to other 8th graders.

  • A boy named Joshua is "killed"
Because he is a witness of a murder.
Wakes up doesn't know his name.
What to do next he asks himself ?
Lie about my life :" My name is Michael Jones.
... I was beaten by father and left on the road ...
Please don't call the police ... I was just a bad boy."
Taken to a home in Jackson
    Just because of a MURDER!!!!!
    THE END

  • The author did an amazing job with the characters in this book! It's a page turner for sure. While written for middle grade readers it is a good read for adults too, with twists and turns in the plot that keep the story moving forward at a fast pace. Excellent book with a touching end.

  • I love this book because it kept me wondering what was going to happen next. It would be nice if you can do a part two telling us what happened to the boys..

  • This novel is full of suspense and drama! I would especially purchase it for boys in elementary and early junior high. It captivates! It inspires them to read! What more can a parent, teacher or librarian ask for? Haven't read Jackson's second book, but now that it is also available on Amazon, I am going to purchase it too!

  • Seven-year-old Joshua is missing, and he's in trouble. Big trouble. But the truth is, he isn't sure exactly what that trouble is because he can't even remember his name. What he does remember is the dead body.

So, he does what he has to do. He makes it up as he goes along.

Jackson's tale shines a matter-of-fact light on a group of troubled... and in trouble... youths who hide their vulnerabilities behind tough exteriors, and who cross the no-going-back line from swagger... to murder. Where they live in the housing projects, there is plenty of poverty, hunger, and despair to go around, but there is also love. Like the love of one heartbroken grandmother who desperately wants her grandson to come back home. She wants her Joshua.

    Will she get him?
