By ingeniously inserting a hand puppet into the binding of this picture book, TimĀ . There's nothing particularly noteworthy about the text or the illustrations, and Sweet Dreams, Honey Bear does weigh in at a pretty slim 10 pages.

By ingeniously inserting a hand puppet into the binding of this picture book, Tim and Julie Weare have given kids and parents a chance to actually act out the yawning, growling, snuffling nighttime adventures of one sweet-dreaming bear. Poking up from a 5-inch-diameter hole between each pair of pages, the rubbery head of Honey Bear guides readers through dreams of eating fish, hunting for honey ("HONEY!"), and snuffling flowers. But this book comes with a puppet, of all things, and how many other titles offer that?

SWEET DREAMS, HONEY BEAR A Hand Puppet Children's Book Tim Weare Vintage.

Ancient French dream book. To be dreaming of honey would indicate that we are perhaps entering a much more productive time on all levels. Honey - a harbinger of bad news; you should beware of deception, false promises. There is a honey - on the contrary, a good sign, because after he successfully completed an important matter; you can go on an exciting journey. To dream of a bear climbs into the hollow of honey - in reality you encounter rudeness and boorishness that would prevent the implementation of your plans. Spilled honey on the ground - a harbinger of future trouble. Honey almost inevitably represents pleasure and sweetness.

During his winter sleep, Honey Bear dreams of the pleasures that await him when he awakens, especially the search for honey, in a story with a latex bear puppet in the spine that can pop through the openings to appear on each spread.
  • Wish it was in better shape

  • I thought I was just getting this because my 2 year old granddaughter loves puppets and puppet books, but when it came I had all of them, 2-6 sitting as close as possible to hear the story and watch the puppet. They talk to the puppet, answer questions asked by the puppet, even kiss the puppet. It didn't take long for them to know the story completely and when grandpa tried to ask different questions than were in the book, they would tell him he was doing it wrong. Great book. Highly recommend.

  • The puppet was torn not useable

  • We have just purchased this book for our daughter after arriving to pick her up from day-care one afternoon to find her and her 15 classmates sitting perfectly still (a miracle for 2-5 year olds) having 'Sweet Dreams, Honey Bear' read to them by one of the carers. We were so enchanted by seeing all 16 of the kids snuffling flowers, growling, counting fish and yawning, that we decided to get both this book and the equally entertaining 'Hide and Seek with Leo', in the hope that they might work their magic with our little one at home as well. And they certainly do!! The story is a bit short for our daughter's liking ('read it again, read it again!' etc. - once is never enough!) but the puppet really brings it all to life. It's the only kid's book we've found so far that is read every day several times, with no sign of boredom yet! We hope the Weares bring out some more titles in the series, as I'm sure they'll be a hit!

  • The board book is great and remind me a lot of the puppet show books by Lisa LeLeu which as a quality plush hand puppet with liner and embroidered eyes. Also the hand puppet is removable! The stories are really cute and detachable. You can buy extra story starters online at [...]
The puppet theater look like book is great to express yourself not just our children. Many hours of fun for less than 20 bucks! I love to read this books too! These books are great motivators for children to become involved in literacy. I especially love the part where the child becomes the author of their own books.

  • I had to buy my child this book after I picked him up from daycare and he wouldn't put it down...even to put on his coat. He enjoys the acting along that the book allows him to do. His favorite part is telling the story himself with his hand in the puppet. I think the story is enjoyable also. The kids get cold (brrr) with Honey Bear, count, sniff, growl, and yawn. It occupies my son for hours.

  • This is an adorable book. My kids love hearing this book over and over again. Even my older kids like reading it their younger siblings. I would highly recommend this book to any family, school, daycare, library, doctor's office, etc. This book is definitely a MUST for any place where there are children.

  • My girls love this book! My 8-year-old reads this book (every night if she had her way) to her 5-year-old sister. They have the best time using the hand puppet to tell the story. Unfortunately, the book is not very long. It seems to take so long to read because the girls send most of the time giggling! Very cute book - sure to keep their attention!
