The Pre-Level I Chemistry Student Textbook is an elementary text for grades K-3 that introduces young students to the scientific discipline of chemistry. Students will learn about atoms, molecules, acids and bases, mixtures, and food and taste. The Pre-Level I Chemistry Student Textbook has 10 full color chapters.
  • This series is really good. We started with the pre-level biology and really liked it. My son would read the book over and over. For 2nd grade we chose the Chemistry (which by the way is recommended for 1st grade). The concepts are too hard and there is not enough explanation with each concept - just a sentence or two and a goofy picture. This was the first book they made in this series and I think the other books are better. Its hard to find Science books with "meat" for young elementary school students and this series makes a good attempt at it.

  • This series of books is excellent. My grandson loves them. I have found all of the titles to be helpful. He learns quickly and enjoys that these books present more information about topics than other children's science books do. For him, they are enrichment so I don't use them as a curriculum since he is in school, but they would be excellent for a homeschool program.

  • My kids have loved this text and I love that my 4 and 7 year olds talk casually about atoms and molecules. Just this morning they came into my room as atoms and combined their arms to make a molecule...such a great science text.

  • While I love the illustrations, this curriculum
Is confusing at best and not suited to the young audience it is designed for.

  • My 5 yr old and I have been having a blast with this. We'll written and good illustrations and interactive. We also got a nice prism to go with it. We homeschool for the time being but I think it would be great for any child.

  • My daughter loves reading science books, and this has been an excellent choice. Very usefull to teach chemistry basics to a 6 year old kid.

  • My fourth grader wanted to learn about astronomy, even though they're not scheduled to learn about it in school until next year. This book was the perfect solution. Both my fourth and sixth graders have enjoyed the very digestible text and photographs and illustrations. It was in-depth enough to satisfy her questions and encourage her to learn more, but broad enough to be understandable for her age. I'll definitely order from this series again!

  • This book is great for 1st-3rd graders, the next level was great for my 4th grader. This series by Keller is a family favorite.
