  • The kids loved it when I read them this book. It was a smaller format paper back than I expected. I like the fact that there were less "balloons" and asides to read in this edition. It made it easier to read out loud in a flowing story. Tho, I would guess the older style of Magic SB books, with the many balloon statements and side stories is better for young readers.

  • We love the magic school bus, but this book on salmon spawning is a bit graphic for our tastes. It led to some inevitable questions about where babies come from, but I would have preferred to wait for that conversation until my daughter was a little older. I think it is fine if you are comfortable speaking with you child about fertilization and where babies come from, it might not be the right choice otherwise.

  • We were studying animal adaptation, and watched the TV episode related to this. I purchased the book for some further reading for my son, and it's a lovely book, really in depth, really fascinating.

  • Just adding to the collection for future grandchildren. All Magic School Bus books are great. My kids learned so much from them. Fast shipping w/o unnecessary packaging.

  • The Magic School Bus "Goes Upstream" is one of the better books in the series, because of the science and the knowledge you receive. I am 9 years old, but I read all the books in the series when I was 7( although I read the new ones as they come out). The facts are easy to remember, for example, thier keen sense of smell allows salmon to "smell out" their food.Salmon have a lot of predators like bears and sharks. This book is better for younger kids then older kids, because they give you only simple, quick facts and nothing more. However, THIS BOOK IS GREAT!
