I very much enjoyed Megan McDonald's Stink. I love how Megan McDonald slips in a mini history lesson in so many of her books. In this book Stink talks about his hero James Madison. also known as "Stinky". While this was not the entire story line its my number 1 reason as to why this series is so wonderful for kids. My daughter and I have learned about Elizebeth Blackwell, Paul Revere, Nelliey Bly, and even learned about the famous classic Nancy Drew stories.

Stink is an enjoyable book for kids of all ages. In Stink he is chosen to take home the class pet Newton the Nute. Great pictures and antics from the author and illustrator. Stink's annoying sister does something horrible to Newton. Read the book to find out what she does to Newton.

Megan McDonald is the author of the popular and award-winning series starring Judy Moody. Peter H. Reynolds is the illustrator of all the Judy Moody books. She says, "Once, while I was visiting a class full of Judy Moody readers, the kids, many with spiked hair à la Judy's little brother, chanted, 'Stink! Stink! Stink! Stink! Stink!' as I entered the room. In that moment, I knew that Stink had to have a book all his ow.

Stink: The Incredible Shrinking KidPaperback – 12 February 2013. by Megan McDonald(Author). In Stink's first solo experience, his style comes through noisy and solid - improved by a progression of funny cartoons, drawn by Stink himself, which are sprinkled all through the book. These extremely clever, natively constructed adventures mirror the well-known voice of a child who envisions himself with super powers to manage the travails of regular day to day existence - including the infrequent prodding of a bossy huge sister!

Megan McDonald, Professor of Philosophy Nancy Cartwright. Every morning, Judy measures Stink, and it's always the same: 3 feet, 8 inches tall. Stink feels like even the class newt is growing faster than he is. Then one day, the ruler reads-3 feet, 7 and three-quarter inches! Can it be? Is Stink shrinking? • First off, I think they push kids a little too fast these days. With that disclaimer in mind, my son is in 1st grade. One day we were at Target and he wanted to buy a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle "chapter book". He told me other kids in his class were reading chapter books and it was the class goal to be able to read chapter books by the end of the school year. I didn't want to discourage him so we got the TMNT book. However, as I learned, finding beginning level chapter books is not easy. For example, the Magic Treehouse books are wonderful, but my 1st grader isn't ready for them. I happened upon a Stink book at BJ's Wholesale, thumbed through it, and thought "wow! this is exactly what I was looking for." I then went to Amazon to order the rest of the series...and the prices here simply cannot be beat. Its still a work in progress, but my son has improved his reading and its amazing to sit there with him as he works through these Stink books.

  • My 7 year old son was instructed to read this book for his 2nd grade class. My son loved it so much, and thought it was very funny. I too read t to ensure he had read it properly & I had to say it was very funny.

  • My 7-year old daughter absolutely loves these books. If you've got a girl who's not into princesses and prefers science, the outdoors, video games, and the like, this series is likely to appeal to her as well.

  • I am a first grade teacher. My students LOVED when I read Stink aloud to them, especially the boys (but the girls loved it too). I think the comics were their favorite part. I have to admit, I love the stink books too. They are very funny!

  • Each night I read one or two chapters to my son once he is in bed. He loves his Stink books so much that we just started the Books 4-6 Collection this week. The subject matters in the books are light-hearted and goofy, like having a contest for the smelliest sneaker or having a pajama party at school. There's a nice amount of illustrations in the books, making it fun for the young kids who are transitioning from picture books like Dr. Seuss but still has a heavy amount of text/dialogue.

  • My son (six) aboslutey adores this series! Fun to read and share silly times together.

  • These are super fun books with just enough texts and illustrations for my 7 years old daughter who just started reading the chapter books. The story lines are something most of 6-8 years old kid could relate to in their real lives. Good starting chapter books that little kids won't feel bored reading.

  • These books are super cute. My kids are 'all boy' Stinks and Farts alike. I will be getting the full series.
