Oh, little prince! Bit by bit I came to understand the secrets of your sad little life. For a long time you had found your only entertainment in the quiet pleasure of looking at the sunset. I learned that new detail on the morning of the fourth day, when you said to me: "I am very fond of sunsets. Come, let us go look at a sunset no. "But we must wait," I said. Wait? For what?" "For the sunset. We must wait until it is time. At first you seemed to be very much surprised. And then you laughed to yourself.

  • I actually bought this book as a replacement to one my sister had as a child, because it was tattered. I looked into other books like Dinosaur Divorce, etc. However many bits of it were too graphic (ie: drugs, alcohol, etc. and the illustrations were also very angry. This book is caring and compassionate, it explains divorce and the effects of it on the whole family. It breaks it down so that a child even as young as 4yrs old can understand. It really puts a light on divorce in a comforting way that I feel explains in detail what others fail to.

I was very happy to find this book on Amazon, as it is not in print anymore and does what other new ones can not.. "comforts little hearts". The book that helped my 8yr old sister 10 years ago is now helping my 5yr old today. I highly recommed this book for anyone with a child going through a divorce.

  • it's ok.

  • Great book that is practical for families and with a spiritual meaning. A must have!

  • Good for kids going through divorce.

  • Saw no where noted how religious this book is! As if trying to explain this to a five year old isn't hard enough if I gave it to him I also get to explain god etc....waste of money!

  • With empathy and comfort, this little book speaks directly to children of divorce. Through creative interactive exercises, it gives children the mechanism for expressing themselves, and opens the door for important, healing conversation with parents. Most valuable of all, this gentle book stresses to children that their parents' divorce is NOT their fault and lets them know they are not alone. A must for any young child whose home is broken by divorce.

  • I was disapointed because this is a religious book that, frankly, warps the mind of young children. It teaches that moms and dads may leave you and be fallible and that divorce is caused by living in a sinful world. Our situation was an abusive situation, and my kids don't need more fear that now mom is going to leave them too, just like dad. That some spirit is going to take care of them, not some real person. I just think that people need to know that this is a religious book, if you are religious you will probably like it, but for those who are not, you will feel like it is warping to a young mind.
